Welcome, I'm glad you're here.
You might be feeling alone - emotionally numb or blue. Or maybe you feel so much that you begin to spiral in your emotions. Whichever side you find yourself, perhaps you've reached a point where your usual ways of coping just aren't working anymore.
You try to keep it together, whether at work, in your relationships, or with family; but inside, you're carrying more than anyone knows. Because grief affects your whole life, it may feel overwhelming, confusing, or quietly numbing.
Therapy can offer you a steady place to land - a space where your loss is understood, seen, and where your pain is allowed to exist exactly as it is.
"We run from grief because loss scares us, yet our hearts reach toward grief because the broken parts want to mend." - Brené Brown
I am an English-speaking psychological therapist based in Leiden in the Netherlands. I provide online grief and loss therapy for adults in the Netherlands, including expats and internationals. Many of my clients are those who felt they were drowning alone in their grief and pain - even when surrounded by people. Personally, I know exactly how this feels.
My therapeutic approach is not about quick fixes or surface-level strategies. It's about learning how to carry your grief in a way that allows your life to continue, and in understanding even the darkest of your emotions through depth, meaning, and self-compassion.

Painful emotions you feel after your loss such as sadness, anger, confusion, or shock can feel like something dark to avoid. But when you can sit with those feelings without judgment or shame, something changes.
You can take a breath and begin to hear what your emotions are really trying to tell you. And that’s where healing can start – giving your grief a voice in a space that’s quiet, steady, and safe enough to hold it all.
It may not be easy, but together, we can help you get to know this new version of yourself after the loss.
I offer weekly or biweekly individual online therapy sessions. During these 50-minute sessions (one clinical hour), we’ll slow things down. Together, at a pace you feel comfortable with, we’ll explore what it means for you to live with this new reality, and how to keep on loving while still remembering what's been lost. Healing in grief does not mean forgetting.
You won’t be told to just "get over" your grief or to just "think positive." You’ll be met with skilled care, insight, compassion, and a deep respect and understanding for what you’ve been carrying. This therapeutic space is for your grief to be witnessed, held, and gently integrated into this new version of your life.
I understand it’s scary to face your grief, but when you’re ready to do so, you won’t be alone.
If you feel something stir reading this - a recognition, a pull - I invite you to reach out.
You don't have to keep doing it all alone.
