My experience includes working with adults ages 18-60 who came from various ethnicities, sexual orientations, and religious backgrounds.
My specializations lie in clients who need help strengthening internal or interpersonal boundaries, clients who deal with grief or other life transitions, relationship and attachment issues, anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, expat experiences, and trauma work.
While the above listed are my specializations, I believe I may not be the best fit for those currently experiencing eating disorders or those who are actively suicidal. These issues require a specialized skill set that I do not yet have. If you are experiencing any of these and would like some help, I could provide you with a referral. Please for further information.
Once we both decide to move forward together after the consultation, our first session will be an intake session. During this session, we'll go through a detailed review of your background and current situation. This helps me gain a clear and comprehensive understanding of who you are and what brings you to therapy. This way, I can better support you in the most informed and meaningful way.
Sessions after the intake will be you and I working towards your therapeutic goals, with quarterly progress evaluations.
Therapy isn't just a place to talk - it's where deep change can begin. You can learn to understand your emotions, recognize your wants and needs, heal past or present wounds, and build new healthy patterns. Over time, you may begin to see a whole new you! But at its core, therapy is about the therapeutic relationship with your therapist (that's me!). Our relationship becomes a mirror, showing you how you connect, trust, and communicate - not only with others, but with yourself.
To Make It Count:
This can depend on your individual therapeutic goals and when you know you’ve met them or not. I may be an expert in therapy, but only you are an expert in yourself.
I do conduct progress evaluations every three months to help assess where you are in your therapeutic goals. During these evaluations, we'll talk through your therapy goals, how you're feeling about them, review your progress, and make any adjustments as needed.
Great question! While my faith impacts my personal viewpoints, I separate those from my professional views and actions as a therapist. I respect those who have a different faith than me or none at all. I will not and do not try to incorporate my faith into sessions without the explicit permission and desire by the client to include faith-based elements in their own sessions.
If you are interested in incorporating your faith/spirituality into therapy, my perspective can hold space for that. We can discuss how your beliefs and values shape your experiences, relationships, and sense of self. Through a like-minded spiritual lens, our sessions can explore how your faith or spirituality can be a source of strength, healing, and growth.
If me having a faith-based perspective makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay! I respect that and understand that I may not be the best fit for everyone. In this case, I would be happy to help you find another therapist who you feel the most safe and secure with.
To get the best experience out of each therapy session, it is important that you have a computer with a working camera and microphone, reliable WiFi connection, and a private and quiet place where you feel comfortable in.
I charge € 100 per session. Each session is 50 minutes (one clinical hour).
I will send you an invoice with information on how to pay for each session. I accept online payments (e.g. iDEAL) or direct bank transfers. Payments must be made before the start of each corresponding session. Late payments may incur additional charges.
I do not accept checks or cash as payments for sessions.
As a fellow American, I would love to work with those based in North America! Unfortunately, due to strict licensure and legal restrictions in both countries, I am legally unable to provide therapeutic services to those based in the USA or Canada. Since I'm based in the Netherlands, I can only provide services to those based in the European Union (EU), even online.
I currently work as a private psychologist, so I do not accept insurance nor do I participate in any public healthcare systems. This means that you do not need a referral from your GP (huisarts) or primary care physician to seek my services.
However, some private insurance plans may cover a portion of therapy costs through
out-of-network reimbursement. To find out if you’re eligible, please reach out to your
insurance provider and see what their requirements for reimbursement are. You can use this information below to help with your inquiry:
Sometimes things happen we can’t control, I completely understand this.
If you need to cancel a session, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the start of the scheduled session. Otherwise, you will be charged the full session rate. No-shows (missing a scheduled session without prior notice) will also incur the full session rate.
One-Time Exemption: as a courtesy, each client is permitted one free late cancellation or no-show during the course of therapy without charge. Other exceptions will be made at the discretion of the therapist (i.e. serious illness or emergencies).
See my full cancellation policy here.

If you are in immediate danger to yourself or others, please call 112 (in the Netherlands) or your local emergency services.
Your safety and well-being are my top priority. While our work together in therapy can offer valuable support, I recognize that mental health crises may occur outside of regular sessions. This Crisis Policy outlines what steps to take in a crisis situation and explains the limitations of my services in such situations.
You can find my Crisis Policy in this document here. Any questions can be directed to me via email .
Please note, the crisis resources listed in this policy are those based in the Netherlands and follow Dutch professional standards. For resources based in your country, please refer to local mental health services or crisis hotlines. You can also refer to this website for a list of crisis resources by country.
If you have any concerns or complaints about the therapy process, you can contact me directly. Hopefully, together we can resolve any concerns or complaints you have. You can submit your complaint to me via email . I will respond within seven working days.
If you are still not satisfied, you also have the right to file a complaint with a professional complaints committee, such as NIP (Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen). To file a complaint, email Klacht & Company.

At the moment, I do not offer internship opportunities.
